The Viriyah Insurance states that it is unaffiliated to "V Group"

The Viriyah Insurance affirms that its business "concentrates solely on insurance" and does not invest in the automobile dealership. The Company has no association with "V Group," a purportedly authorized distributor for a particular electronic vehicle brand.

     The Viriyah Insurance Public Company Limited wishes to clarify the news stating that V Group has been appointed as the distributor of Chinese electric vehicle brand that will soon be marketed in Thailand, as reported by numerous media outlets. In addition, the Company received inquiries from the media regarding its strategy for selling electric vehicles and its stake in V Group.

     To avoid any confusion, the Viriyah Insurance would like to reaffirm that it has never invested in the automobile dealership industry throughout the Company’s 76-year history and remains committed to the insurance business to manage life and property risks for the people under the principle of "Fairness is Our Policy", which has been the organization's DNA for decades.     For this reason, the Viriyah Insurance confirms that it is not involved in the administration of  V Group or even ownership of its shares, and that its shareholders and directors are not executives, directors, or shareholders of any V Group business.

     In terms of electric vehicle insurance, the Viriyah Insurance continues to be the non-life insurance company with the largest number of electric vehicle insurance markets. This is comparable to auto insurance, where the Company has dominated the market for over 36 consecutive years. In this regard, the Company's electric vehicle insurance growth rate continues to rise. In the year 2022, 5,249 electric cars were insured, while 8,714 were insured in the first half of 2023 alone.

     Moreover, The Company continues to adopt electric vehicle innovative technology to generate knowledge for employees, staffs of the Viriyah Insurance’s certified repair centers, agents, brokers, and partners. With the Electric Vehicle Technology and Safety course, the Company has recently launched a nationwide knowledge-building initiative to increase the breadth of knowledge regarding electric vehicle maintenance services.

     To summarize, the Viriyah Insurance’s total premium revenue for the first half of 2023 amounts to approximately 20 billion Baht. This figure is composed of approximately 18 billion Baht derived from auto insurance premiums and approximately 2 billion Baht from non-motor insurance premiums.
